The Publishing Process
Bringing a book into the world doesn’t have to be mysterious, intimidating, or lonely. When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative, hands-on process that’s clear, flexible, and human.
Here’s what that usually looks like.

We’ll meet in whatever way makes the most sense—sometimes in person, often virtually. We’ll work together in shared documents where you can write, revise, and experiment in real time or on your own schedule. If you make changes, I’ll see them. If I make suggestions, we’ll talk them through. Nothing happens in a vacuum.
When we meet, we go over the work together. We look at what’s working, what needs clarity, and what wants to be shaped next. This isn’t about nitpicking or “fixing” your voice—it’s about helping the book become the best version of itself.

When it’s time to think about the cover, you’re part of that process too. Some people come in with a clear vision. Some don’t. Either way, we figure it out together. That might mean choosing an existing image, designing something from scratch, or getting creative in unexpected ways. There’s no one right way—just the one that feels right for your book.

When your manuscript is ready, we schedule a longer working session to put the book together. I handle formatting, layout, and the technical pieces, and I walk you through the self-publishing process step by step. We talk through options, make decisions together, and publish both print and ebook versions if that’s what you want.
And when the book is live? We celebrate. Because that moment matters.

After publication, I don’t disappear. I make sure you know how to access your book, order author copies, and share it with the people you want to share it with. You’ll have the links, the information, and the confidence to say, I wrote this—and now it exists.

This process is collaborative, supportive, and straightforward. You don’t need to know how publishing works when you start. That’s part of what I’m here for.
